The Masterclass: Epoxy & Woodturning
The perfect introduction to turning with wood and epoxy
Woodturning is a beautiful, centuries-old craft. However, combining solid wood with epoxy resin on the lathe calls for an entirely new discipline. It requires specific techniques, specialized tools, and in-depth knowledge of materials.
Only a few times a year, I open the doors of my workshop to experienced woodturners who want to discover this specific skill and add it to their own repertoire.
-
Strictly limited
Because I focus primarily on my own art collections, this intensive one-day introduction is offered only a limited number of times per year.
-
Undivided attention
To ensure absolute safety around the machines and to provide maximum guidance, capacity is always limited to a maximum of two participants per day.
-
Experience required
This masterclass is not a basic woodturning course. Participation is only possible if you already fully and safely master the use of the lathe and traditional woodturning chisels independently.
During this intensive day, you will be introduced to the basics of working with epoxy on the lathe:
-
The basics of casting: Jointly casting a 'blank' (casting block) to understand the chemical process.
-
Tool Knowledge: Introduction to the special chisels and cutting angles required for a clean result.
-
Turning technique: The safe clamping and turning of a combined workpiece of wood and epoxy.
Please note that this masterclass offers only a solid, specialized foundation. The complex art techniques remain reserved for my own work and are not shared in this introduction.
I offer this one-day masterclass in an exclusive 1-on-1 setting or as a group masterclass (max. 2 people).
After submitting your request, I will assess your experience and you will receive an official proposal from me with the rates and available dates.
